The purpose of our project is to restore dune lakes in Te Hiku; Lake Waiparera at Waiharara, Split Lake at Sweetwater Farm, Bulrush Lake & Waimahuru Lake both part of Te Arai.  The project carries out fencing, planting and pest control, developing iwi capability and capacity in delivering freshwater restoration projects.  It also raises awareness of the importance of our dune lakes by sharing the importance that these rare and valuable ecosystems provide, whilst building strengthening our communities through connection with our environment.
